CONCERT SEASON
“Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without." Confucius
Concert season is the time of year we able to focus on musical ability. Events will be made available on the calendar. The season mostly comprises:
- Auditions
- Evaluations
- Concerts
Oh…. and we also offer the opportunity for our students to attend a trip to participate in music workshops at Disneyworld during Spring Break! (Select years only).
Bands
- Wind Ensemble
- Students required to participate in a 90 minute sectional once a week which takes places outside of the school day
- Symphonic
- Students required to participate in a 90 minute sectional once a week which takes places outside of the school day
- Concert Band
Concert Season for students in concert bands is generally much quieter than Marching Season.
Percussion Ensemble
Percussion Ensemble is an after school organization dedicated to furthering the skill/techniques of each student while providing an opportunity to showcase their talents. Although the literature in the marching activity keeps our percussionists busy, the rigor for them in the concert setting can sometimes be limited. Percussion Ensemble is a great supplement to counter this situation. Rehearsals usually take place three times per week, about three hours a day (outside of school day) following the end of marching season until the concert date (traditionally held in March). Each student is assigned between 1 and 3 pieces and will typically rehearse 1 piece a day until we get closer to the concert.
