Band Logistics on Game Day

Refer to the Band Calendar for detailed game dates/times etc. Here are a few useful explanations of ‘special’ nights you will see listed:

PARENT NIGHT: Parent night is when parents take a picture with their senior before the game on the field. It typically involves football, cheer, trainers, JROTC, Revs and band seniors, all lining up on one side of the field, and parents at the other. Seniors meet their parent(s), one at a time, on the 50 yard line. Student/parent(s) are announced and the senior hands the parent(s) a flower and a commemorative photo is taken.

HOMECOMING: CP Band will play during the introduction of the Homecoming court at half-time. The band show performance will typically take place AFTER the game at the homecoming game.

KNOX NIGHT: On Knox night, all current Knox Band 8th grade students (and 7th grade students with siblings in CP Band) are invited to come along to sample a football game from a band perspective. They spend some time with their potential future section, and take part in some of the half time performance too!

SENIOR NIGHT: Senior night is typically one of the last home games, when all senior students are honored. In the past, band seniors have worn sashes to be easily identified. An emotional night for sure.

Volunteer with the band

Volunteers are needed for every game day. For more information on volunteer roles and the link to become a CISD approved volunteer, please see our volunteering page.
